A good place between North and South

Come and explore the north of England, including the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, the Westmorland Dales, the North York Moors, Hadrian's Wall, and three other World Heritage sites!

NB: While Covid-19 restrictions are in place, we are only accepting bookings for one group/person at a time.

Westwood Farm opened as a Bed breakfast in 2015. We aim to provide something more than the ordinary B&B experience.  We welcome you into our home to stay with us, meals are taken together at the kitchen table, and you are welcome to use the family sitting room, TV and WiFi.

You can borrow maps or books and play board games or do a jigsaw if the  weather's too grotty for a walk!

Westwood Farm is 350 to 400 years old. It is now a fully modernised family home retaining many original features, indeed, word has it that the panelling in the sitting room was filched from the remains of Brough Castle after it had burned down in 1666!

It is no longer part of a working farm, but farming has been carried out in the Upper Eden Valley for at least two thousand years. Sheep, cows and horses are common in the fields so although we'll be happy to see and host dogs - they MUST be kept under control and on the lead.

There are short walking areas up through the village.

(We also have 4 family cats, and Willy down the road has lots more)!

Boiled egg and soldiers presented in our locally made egg-cups!
