Newcastle and Leeds are only 80 miles away, and historic towns such as Carlisle, Lancaster and the World Heritage site at Durham are less than hour by car.

Kendal and Penrith which are approximately 30 to 40 minutes away mark the Eastern limits of the Lake District World Heritage site, and the small old towns of Barnard Castle, Sedbergh, Hawes, Richmond and Appleby can be reached in less than half an hour.

Following the extension of the park boundaries in 2016, Kirkby Stephen is now a Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, only two miles from us.
